For $1,049 the Acer Aspire 4741G LX.R6602.018 is a decent allrounder notebook. Unfortunately the graphics card is worse than those in many equally priced alternatives.
It has an Intel Core i5-430M (2.26GHz) processor that has no trouble running several power hungry programs at once. Office and Uni work are therefore well taken care of, and the NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics card can play games like Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on low settings.
A 500GB hard drive provides plenty of storage for all kinds of stuff, from spreadsheets to large game installations. The 15.6in (1,366x768 resolution) screen is good for gaming or for office/Uni work. The Acer 4741G weighs 2.2kg, and measures 31.9mm thick, 245mm deep, and 342mm wide.
